The Vendee is a beautiful area of France and the only area whose climate compares to that of the South of France. There are an abundance of woodlands and lakes which would be of interest to walking enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and those who like fishing. Many chateau, donjons, and churches to explore. Old villages and towns steeped in history.

Venice Verte (Green Venice) is a labyrinth or canals where boats are for hire to travel through the canals tunnelling through overhanging trees. At the end of June/July there are fields of sunflowers everywhere - an awesome sight.
